Read: Firefly Lane

Firefly Lane. I finished this book IN TEARS and I’ve been thinking about it non-stop. So much of it hit home in many, many ways. None of which I’ll share here as not to spoil it for you, but read on for a brief synopsis so you can decide if you want to pick it up!

Okay, so did I love it? No. Did I really like it? Yes! It was an engaging story that held my attention as I blazed through it so I could see what happened next. I was hooked for sure! But there is this problem I have with Kristin Hannah books where I compare them to each other. And some of her books are SO GOOD. And this was good but not an earth shattering, “must read now” kinda thing. For sure read it, but it doesn’t need to be pushed to the top of your list. Does that make sense? I do recommend it and enjoyed it the entire time, but it wasn’t a 5-star book for me.

So what’s it about? Two unlikely best friends growing up together through the 70s and beyond. KateandTully, in one word, inseparable. These two go through a LOT of life together and it was neat to see history woven through the entire novel. If you like coming of age stories that reads like chick-lit with more depth, you’ll like this one.

I’ll read the sequel, Fly Away next and I’ll also check out the Firefly Lane Netflix series which seems have mixed reviews. I’ll keep you posted!
