New York at Christmas, Part 2
If you missed Part 1, be sure to check it out here! Here’s our second full day in NYC at Christmas-
This day was our “holiday day” with allllll the amazing Christmas things. We started the day off with brunch with my Uncle Brian at Norma’s at the Parker. This restaurant is famous for being a kid-friendly spot with a TON of fun items on the menu, geared towards little ones or anyone with a sweet tooth! Think: cheesecake stuffed French toast and all sorts of over the top breakfast items! We liked it, but wouldn’t say it’s a must eat spot! It was so nice though hanging with my Uncle (he lives in upstate NY) and our breakfast was pretty good.
After we ate we walked down to Wollman Rink in Central Park to ice skate! When we arrived the line seemed almost too long to wait, but I’m so glad we did because it moved along very quickly and we were in in no time. Ice skating was for sure a highlight for me. It was so much fun and it felt SO festive to be iceskating IN Central Park at Christmastime- a bucket list item for me, for sure and Henry loved it too! My long time friend Zoe met us there too which was wonderful.
From skating we walked down past the 5th Avenue shops and windows, popped into the Plaza Hotel Food Hall for Laudree macarons and then down to the big tree (wow!) and FAO Schwarz! Kid dreams, coming true! Loved the store- it was incredibly crowded but worth the stop.
After shopping we grabbed dinner with Veronica’s friend Dorothy at Tsuru Ton Tan…and then onto Radio City Music Hall to see the Rockettes! Veronica and I were the most excited for this and I can’t even tell you how wonderful it was. We saw the Christmas Spectacular and wow- well worth it! The boys were very into it too. We weren’t sure if they’d like it, but they loved it. I want to take my whole family one day because I know they’d love it too- especially Olive. I cried through some of it because it was just so beautiful, and the dancers were amazing! Another highlight of the trip for sure.
One last stop before wrapping up this whirlwind trip- Times Square to show the boys the craziness. They oohed and ahhed at all the lights, we ate some final hot dogs, and called it a night! It’s hard to believe we fit in ALL of this into two days, but we did, and as we flew home the next morning I felt so happy we got to experience all of this together. A trip to remember for always and I’m so happy I had this special time with just Henry and our friends.
Have you ever been to New York during Christmas? Add it to your list, and get yourself there one day! I can’t wait to go back!
