Ergobaby's Embrace Motherhood Event in Los Angeles
This weekend was great- a bit of a whirlwind but wonderful all the same. The older I get, and the longer I do what I do for work, the less I love traveling for work. On one hand I get to spend time with my colleagues I rarely get to see, but it’s terrible being away from my family and I’m always trying to get home as soon as possible. This weekend was a very quick turn around trip- less than 24 hours in LA but jampacked with so much goodness.
Ergobaby flew me out to do something different than I would normally be doing at an Ergo event. If you didn’t know I’ve worked with Ergobaby for years and years, doing social and content. But this time it was for oils! Ergo just released a new carrier- the Embrace newborn carrier- and this event was a celebration to launch it.
The carrier is really beautiful, and was created to accommodate newborns-6 months. It’s incredibly soft and feels like a wrap although it’s as supportive as a carrier. I tried it on and fell in love! If I had a baby on the way, this carrier would be high on my list, and it was so fun seeing all the mamas try it out for the first time.
Expectant and new mamas gathered together to check out the new carrier, listen to the talented and inspiring panel speak about embracing motherhood and the 4th trimester, enjoy a delicious brunch, have their tarot cards read by Michelle Tea, explore the Monti Kids area, and make custom essential oil roller blends with me.
We created three different blends for the event-
Gentle Baby + Lavender
Valor + Northern Lights Black Spruce + Lime
Sacred Mountain + Tangerine
I had a such a great time creating the rollers with each mama and getting to know them. That’s one of the hidden jewels in roller-making at events like this- it’s not especially quick. We get to meet and talk and connect, all while slowly dropping the oils in the rollers, and I love it. And as most good days often do, the whole afternoon flew by. It always makes me so happy to be around my LA friends- and I had the opportunity to meet some wonderful new people and connect in person with some faces I’ve only known online for years and years. A wonderful day and fabulous event.
