Read: The Idea of You by Robinne Lee
Are you wanting a can’t put down, well-written beach read? The Idea of You by Robinne Lee might be what you’re looking for. Warning- it’s STEAMY. Another warning: you will be so pulled into this book and the story that you will want to finish it in one go. A huge problem if you have children or a job, or both…because you’ll literally want to take the day off just to curl up with this novel and read it cover to cover.
I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this one- as always I try to avoid all reviews until I’ve read the book and reviewed it, but I had heard it was great. And I was absolutely not disappointed. The Idea of You is a an unlikely love story- main character Solene goes to an August Moon (THE boy band of the time) concert with her young daughter and her friends, and ends up having a moment with one of the members of the band. The rest…you’ll have to read the book to find out, but it’s totally worth getting this one and giving it a try.
I still CANNOT stop thinking about this book, the characters, the way it panned out. The moment I finished it I had to talk about it! It’s a love story but so much more too. The commentary on being a middle aged woman and what that means- what society expects of you and all that’s wrapped into that- there’s so much there. There’s a lot of sex, so be prepared, but I didn’t find it to be crude or too much at any point. The entire book was super enjoyable and I am HOLDING OUT for a sequel. There’s so much more to say but I’ll stop here so I don’t ruin the amazing surprise that is this book.
Let me know if you read The Idea of You- and keep me posted on what you think!
